We love breathing new life into outdated rooms! This warm contemporary master bath remodel combines functionality with timeless elegance, and we are so proud of our talented kitchen & bath designer, Kayla, for this masterpiece.
When she first saw this space, she knew it just wasn’t serving the homeowners’ needs anymore. Our goal was to create an elegant, inviting, spa-like bath that felt exciting to walk into every morning. Luckily, we had the talented crew at Blackstone Building & Remodeling, Inc. working alongside us to get the job done. Every single choice was made to maximize both the beauty of the room and its everyday usability.
The biggest change was ditching the clunky, unused bathtub and replacing it with a spacious walk-in shower. We lined the shower walls with stunning Touch Snow Crest Tile from Virginia Tile Company. This is a matte-finish porcelain tile that’s both easy on the eyes and easy to clean. The built-in nook gives plenty of space for toiletries, so the rest of the shower can be free and open. And the smooth, curbless entry saves the trouble of climbing over a tub wall or stubbing your toe on a raised edge. Little touches like these make such a big difference.
It’s amazing how much larger and airier a bathroom feels when you prioritize a high-end shower experience over a bulky, dated tub!
We also gave these homeowners a TON more space for storage and daily use. Kayla gave the original vanity area a thoughtful upgrade by designing a personalized drop-down makeup counter. It’s those little, custom details that make a space feel unique to the homeowner and functional for their specific routine. Then we removed the dated shower stall and freed up enough space to install a second full-size vanity and linen closet, so both homeowners have plenty of space to get ready for their day.
To create this warm and welcoming atmosphere, Kayla chose Bedford white oak cabinets in a soft wheat stain by Marquis Fine Cabinetry. The clean, minimalist door style keeps the room feeling contemporary, and the sweeping wood grain adds a touch of organic texture. The stunning Pyrenees quartz countertops from Casabella provide an elegant, durable surface that ties the warm wood and the crisp white tile together beautifully. Finally, the clear glass cabinet hardware is the perfect finishing touch – coordinating with the statement lighting fixtures to give the room a touch of Hollywood glamour.
