A Father’s Day Tribute: Five Generations of Family, Craft, and Community

Father’s Day has a special meaning here at Benson Stone Company. It’s a day to celebrate fathers everywhere, and for our family, it’s also a day to reflect on the fathers and grandfathers who built our family business from the ground up — and the values they handed down to each generation that followed.

When our great-great-grandfather opened our doors back in 1930, he planted something that would grow roots deep enough to last a century. Through the Great Depression, through wars, through recessions and booms, our family has held fast to the same simple promises: quality craftsmanship, fair prices, and neighborly goodwill.

Five generations later, those promises haven’t changed. They’ve been passed down, father to son, mother to daughter, one generation teaching the next how to lead with integrity, how to stand behind our craft, and how to build something that lasts. That’s the inheritance we’re most proud of.

Craftsmanship You Can Count On

Every father teaches his children that shortcuts catch up with you eventually. That lesson has shaped how we do business since day one. When you walk through our doors, you’re benefiting from generations of accumulated knowledge about quality, durability, and what it actually takes to build something that holds up over time.

Fair Prices, Plain and Simple

Our forefathers believed that a fair deal was the foundation of a lasting relationship, not just a single sale. That belief still guides every price tag in our store. Some businesses are in it to make a quick buck; we’re interested in earning your trust again and again, year after year, the same way our family has earned the trust of this community for nearly a century.

Neighborly Goodwill

Maybe more than anything else, our fathers taught us that this business is about people. It’s about remembering your name, asking about your family, and treating every visit like it matters, because it does. We don’t see our customers as transactions to close. We see them as our neighbors, friends, and in many cases, extended family who’ve been walking through our doors for decades.

Counting Our Blessings

As we celebrate Father’s Day this year, we find ourselves filled with gratitude. Grateful for the fathers in our own family who built something worth continuing. Grateful for the customers who’ve trusted us with their projects, their homes, and their hard-earned money for five generations. And grateful for the incredible team of craftsmen, designers, and support staff who have worked so hard through the years to make our company worthy of an excellent reputation.

To every father reading this — happy Father’s Day from our family to yours. Thank you for letting us be part of your story for all these years. Let’s show these young ones how it’s done!

With gratitude,

The Benson Family
