The Village Supper Club

We’re proud to show you the reconstruction of The Village Supper Club Delavan – what an awesome project!
The supper club’s history dates back to 1968. It was recently saved from demolition by the Kaplan family, who restored its classic charm with a full renovation.
Working alongside DMAC Architecture & Interiors and Corporate Contractors Inc., we helped to preserve that timeless supper club character with custom quartz countertops.
We fabricated and installed Calacatta Macchia Vecchia Quartz in each restroom. The restrooms have an eccentric look with fun wallpaper, black and white tile work, and updated fixtures.
Our granite shop team also came through with signature craftsmanship on stone countertops in the banquet room, outdoor bar, and serving stations.
Spend an evening at the Village Supper Club to enjoy awesome food, excellent service, and scenic views of Delavan Lake from every seat in the house. It’s been an honor to contribute to this restoration – I’m sure it will be a cherished destination for generations to come.

Lofts on Broadway

We have another awesome Benson Stone Company job to show off!

This 118-year-old building in downtown Aurora used to be a combination railroad terminal and hotel. It sat vacant for over 20 years before it was converted into the Lofts on Broadway apartments.

The Bianco Rhino marble and Absolute Black granite panels are the first thing you’ll notice as you approach the building. We fabricated both right here in our shop – almost 1500sqft of cladding.

Since it’s an exterior job, the craftsmen at Mike Harris Masonry provided the installation. But we’ve been doing a TON of vertical installs like this inside of homes and businesses lately. It’s one thing to lay a stone flat on a cabinet, but it takes a special team to anchor the super heavy, super fragile slabs up on a wall safely and securely.

It’s the kind of challenging work that really sets our granite installers apart from the rest!

Inside, we crafted and installed Bianco Tulum granite countertops in the kitchens and baths of all 20 units. The #1 thing our crew gets complimented on is timeliness and efficiency. If we say it’ll be done by a certain date, it will be.

We plan ahead, we meet our deadlines, and we keep our promises.

Side Note: I’m proud to say we supplied all the cabinetry for this building, too. You might not think of Benson Stone as a cabinet supplier, but we provide the full range – from builder-grade economy to luxury custom cabinets. Wright & Wagner Lofts

The story of this job is a little unusual, but unusual circumstances make for pretty good stories.

The quartz countertops for this 83-unit apartment building were fabricated overseas, and a Wisconsin-based company was originally hired to install them.

Well, one thing lead to another and, out of the blue one evening, I got a phone call from the building contractor. He told me the tenants were scheduled to move in soon and the quartz subcontractor was missing days and seriously running behind. Plus, the foreign-made tops came in damaged and they were the wrong size.

“So,” he asked, “What do you think? Can you jump in on this one?”
We had a team of installers there the very next day.

All in all, we repaired and installed kitchen countertops and islands throughout the building, re-polishing some of them on-site, and fabricated and installed new vanity tops and quartz window sills.

When push came to shove, the building contractor knew he could count on us to put the fire out. At Benson Stone, we go out of our way to take care of our commercial clients. We rearranged our schedule and shuffled the crew around (thankfully everyone is cross-trained) to meet the deadline.

Believe it or not, we finished the tops in all of those apartments in under four weeks so the new tenants could move in on time.
I have to give a huge thank you to the rest of my team in this story. From the fabricators to the installers to the support crew in the office, everyone pulled together to make sure this project ran at max efficiency.

Great leadership, camaraderie, and passion for the craft keep our morale high. Even after weeks of late nights and hard work in record heat, the guys were actually smiling when they came to tell me the job was done.

Planet Fitnesses

The Planet Fitness franchise remodel has been one of our biggest projects to date. Over the past couple of years, we’ve installed black galaxy granite in over 30 Planet Fitness gyms in Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, and even Nebraska!

Working alongside Grommes Millwork of Beloit, our team has helped to update these Planet Fitness locations with stylish and durable stone countertops as part of the full gym remodel.

The scope of our work includes fabrication and installation of the front and back customer service counters, bathroom vanities, locker room benches, wall caps, iPod charging stations, wall caps, and window sills.

I’m proud to say that we earn lots of compliments on our efficiency. Even counting driving time, we can knock out a full install in Omaha in under three days!

Woodfire Brick Oven Pizza

The story of this projects starts back in 2015, when a local developer reached out to us to finish the granite in a major restaurant remodel. As happens all too often, the original granite sub on the job wasn’t making good time, and the developer needed the countertops fabricated and installed ASAP.
They had never worked with us before, but thanks to our reputation for quality craftsmanship, they gave us a shot.
If you’ve ever been to Woodfire in downtown Rockford, you already know it has that great balance between historic features and modern updates.
The bar top, open kitchen tops, wall caps, and bathroom vanity tops all came from us. Our granite shop is a well-oiled machine, keeping over 20 employees busy full-time. Thanks to their hard work and skill, we finished this install ahead of the due date.
The best thing about this project is that it gave us a chance to show off for a prestigious local developer. I’m proud to tell you that relationship is still going strong, all these years later.

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church

I love showing off this project, because it’s such a classic beauty.
St. Anthony of Padua is a historic Catholic church, built by the Italian community in South Rockford. With over 100 years of history, the church remodel required craftsmanship that would compliment its classical architecture and stand the test of time. We were honored to lend our expertise to the restoration project.
Our team fabricated porcelain wainscoting for the walls throughout the sanctuary. The high gloss finish reflects the stained glass windows all around, giving the church an angelic glow.

Contemporary New Home Design

I’m so proud to present my latest home design with the help of the New Leaf Homes! Together, we gave these homeowners the contemporary yet timeless look they desired. In the kitchen, these homeowners opted for beautiful wood-look porcelain tile flooring by Virginia Tile Company, which offers the look of wood without maintenance and durability that can last well over 50 years. The cabinetry by David Bradley is in linen white, while the island and built-in feature stand out with a striking cherry driftwood finish. Sleek and durable Montauk quartz by HanStone Quartz USA on the kitchen and bar countertops provides a seamless blend of style and functionality. Bright and contemporary, this kitchen and dining area has exceeded the homeowners’ expectations, leaving them thrilled with their beautiful new space.

The chic living space features a striking floor-to-ceiling natural travertine stone fireplace, installed by our own talented craftsmen. Built-in cabinetry by David Bradley in linen beautifully complements this space. Our vision was to keep the design cohesive with the rest of the home.

Finally, take a look at this breathtaking bathroom! The floors and shower walls feature Praia Carrara polished tiles by MSI, with the same tiles in a smaller format on the shower floors. Swedish Farmhouse Home Remodel

I’m so excited to show you this charming Swedish farmhouse-inspired remodel. This kitchen embodies the fresh and airy look typical of the Swedish farmhouse style, featuring custom cabinets by David Bradley. We chose linen-painted cabinets for the perimeter, creating a soft and inviting backdrop, while the island in powder blue adds a cheerful pop of color. The Michelangelo quartz countertops by are both beautiful and resilient, perfect for handling the demands of a high-traffic kitchen. Shout-out to the Benson Stone Company granite shop, for such a beautiful fabrication and install!
The mosaic tile backsplash by Glazzio Tiles enhances the overall design, tying in the blue accents from the island seamlessly throughout the space. The combination of natural light, bright colors, and carefully curated decor gives the kitchen a welcoming and spacious feel, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings and making memories with friends.
And you’ll love this stunning bathroom remodel. This light-filled space features custom maple cabinets by Marquis Fine Cabinetry, providing tons of storage for their primary bath. The countertops are the same Michelangelo quartz that we used in the kitchen, and they perfectly complement these striking floors by Elon Tile and Stone in Barcelona Star Grey. Ultimate Basement Bar Remodel

This was an amazing project to participate in, and I’m excited to share this incredible transformation with you. What was once a completely unfinished basement, is now these homeowners’ own craft bar and entertainment space! 

The journey began with a complete remodel of the bathroom, where I introduced a beautiful tile shower and steel grey leathered granite countertops for a sleek, modern look.

This couple loved the look of leathered granite —I carried the same aesthetic into the rest of the basement, creating a stunning new bar area. The bar features the same steel grey leathered granite countertops, seamlessly tying the space together. With stylish backlighting and underbar lighting, the bar exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, making it a true standout feature.

One of the highlights is the beer tap, pouring the homeowners’ favorite local brews. Before, this space was an unused and unfinished basement. This space is now the ultimate spot for these homeowners to catch a drink and game with friends!

Coastal Bath Remodel

This lovely coastal bath remodel was exactly what this homeowner had in mind!

I’m excited to share this elegant coastal bath remodel project. At the heart of this renovation is the freestanding tub, serving as the room’s focal point. Paired with a statement chandelier, this feels like a space where these homeowners can unwind after a long day.

Starting this coastal bath remodel, we wanted to reimagine this bathroom layout. These homeowners loved the idea of more storage and a single instead of double vanity. We selected custom cabinets by Marquis Cabinetry to maximize storage without compromising style.

In selecting materials, I sourced tiles from Soho Tile, MSI, Happy Floors, and Virginia Tile Company, ensuring durability throughout.  The Kelvingrove Cambria Quartz Vanity Countertops add a touch of luxury to this space.

Every detail, from the coordinating shower threshold to the thoughtful placement of a towel hook outside the shower door, was meticulously planned to enhance functionality and aesthetics.

One key element that sets this design apart is its subtle nautical theme, subtly woven into the space to reflect this homeowner’s style.
